Canadian musicians kick off World Vision campaign with a songwriters circle in Saskatoon

    SASKATOON, July 24 /CNW/ - On July 31, Canadian musicians Brad Johner,
Charlie Major, Theresa Sokyrka and Michelle Wright will launch World Vision's
Saskatchewan 1,000 Campaign with a concert at Lakeview Auditorium.
    The goal of the campaign is to raise awareness among Saskatoon residents
about issues affecting children in developing countries and to encourage them
to sponsor 1,000 children in need through World Vision by September 15th. The
generous residents of Saskatchewan already sponsor 13,879 children through
World Vision.
    The July 31 songwriters circle will provide an intimate atmosphere during
a jam session showcasing the collaborative talents of these outstanding
musicians. Each artist will perform their own fans' favourites and some
impromptu numbers together.
    Brad Johner recently returned from Nicaragua where he met with children
and their families benefiting from the support of Canadians who sponsor
children through World Vision. Michelle Wright, a long-time supporter of the
organization, has visited World Vision community development projects in
Zambia and Honduras where she sponsors two children. Johner sponsors two girls
in Mauritania.
